Whenever I measure the trigger pull of a stock Glock pistol, it's typically between 7 to 9 pounds depending on how broken-in the gun is. By polishing out the trigger components and installing a competition connector and 6-lb trigger spring, the trigger pull is smoother and reduced to 5 - 6 pounds. This is a very comfortable range for accurate fire plus there's enough "beef" on the trigger to prevent negligent discharges. Also, this combination maintains complete reliability in the gun insuring safe and accurate fire.
It's recommended that you bring a magazine and at least 20 rounds of ammo so I can test fire and adjust the gun. Turn around time is usually 10 days depending on work load and other commitments.
Cost: $150.00 including parts & labor.
"HYVE TECHNOLOGIES" makes a wide, flat target trigger CNC machined from aluminum with a very comfortable feel. The safety tang compresses flat with the trigger so you don't have that uncomfortable blade feel like the stock trigger does. Also, it has adjustments for both pre-travel and post-travel so you can take out a lot of the slop. The trigger alone doesn't reduce the trigger pull so I polish out the trigger components and include a competition connector and trigger spring. This reduces the trigger pull down into that 5 to 6 pound range and smooths out the trigger pull.

"Cajun Gunworks" and "M-Carbo" both make excellent trigger kits for both "duty" and "competition" applications. It's recommended that they be installed by a qualified gunsmith (like me) and that some internal polishing be performed during the installation process. These companies also sell both flat and cured triggers for different types of shooting and personal tastes in trigger feel. For accuracy work, I'm partial to their flat triggers which improves the feel and trigger control for long shots. Installation price depends on which kit you choose and if your CZ is equipped with a manual safety or decocker.

Revolver trigger jobs consist of polishing internal parts and reducing the strength of both the hammer spring and trigger rebound spring. It's important to maintain enough strength in these springs to avoid light hits on the primers. Reliability is key. Polishing generally makes the double action trigger pull smooth and even. I generally use Wilson Combat spring kits in all of my trigger jobs.

For the S&W Shield, M&P, SDVE, Sigma and M&P 2.0 models, Apex Tactical makes a variety of triggers and trigger enhancement kits. This is an excellent product and I've been installing them for years. The triggers come in a variety of colors plus they offer several different trigger configurations such as the flat-face trigger, duty-carry curved trigger, forward reset enhanced trigger and others. For Smith & Wesson pistols, Apex Tactical if tops.

The double-action on the Sig P-Series pistols is notoriously heavy and often gritty too. Often 10 to 12 pound trigger pulls are not unusual. A good trigger job entails a lighter hammer spring and polishing of hammer strut, hammer, trigger bar, sear and safety lever. I've been a Certified Sig Armorer since November 1, 2009 and I've worked on many of the P-Series pistols.

For the Springfield XD pistol, I typically use either a Springer Precision or a Powder River trigger kit. Both are good, but need fitting and adjustments when installed. They also both offer several trigger configurations (curved vs flat) and different levels of trigger pull (duty vs competition). What's unique about Spring Precision
For the Springfield XD pistol, I typically use either a Springer Precision or a Powder River trigger kit. Both are good, but need fitting and adjustments when installed. They also both offer several trigger configurations (curved vs flat) and different levels of trigger pull (duty vs competition). What's unique about Spring Precision is that they make their own trigger bars while Powder River uses the factory trigger bar in the gun. Bring me the kit you want installed along with 25 rounds of factory ammo (no reloads) and I'll install, test fire and adjust your trigger. Cost: $125.00.
